Sweeteners and Syrups will be mentioned a lot in the recipes. Below you will find home-recipes for both as well as advice on store-bought ingredients. Remember- every bubble tea recipe is forgiving and malleable to your liking. 

Sweeteners

Sweeteners: Give your tapioca and your drink sweetness. The sugar level of your bubble tea is completely up to your preference.

Note: Instant bubble tea's are already sweet!

Typical types of Sweeteners

Brown Sugar syrup: Stir equal parts brown sugar with boiling hot water. Adjust levels to your desired consistency. Keep refrigerated for +/- one month.

Sugar syrup: Stir equal parts white sugar with boiling hot water. Adjust levels to your desired consistency. Keep refrigerated for +/- one month.

Honey: your choice of honey

Sweetened condensed milk.

Syrups

Syrups are added to Black or Green tea to give it a nice fruity flavour.

Note: Syrups bought from the drink aisle at your local supermarket are completely fine to use. Adjust the amount you use to your liking.

Fruit syrup: Using the fruit of your choice, put the fruit through the juicer.
You can also use a blender and strain the liquid out.
Take note of the amount of juice and halve that amount.
This is how much water AND the amount of sugar you will add.
Boil the mixture, don't forget to stir.
Pour into a container and let cool.
Keep refrigerated for +/- one week.
